Nature Immersion For All Ages
What We Do
With hiking trails, waterways, and restorative greenspaces often out of reach for most Baltimore residents, Karmic Connections bridges that gap by bringing Black and Brown communities directly into nature. We design guided excursions — from local hikes to international natural adventures — and pair them with practices like meditation, breathwork, yoga, journaling, art, and facilitated dialogue to calm the nervous system and build emotional resilience.
We also believe that healing and responsibility go together. Our programs often include creek and beach clean-ups, service projects, and mutual-aid moments that pour back into the communities we come from.
All of our experiences are intentionally intergenerational. Whether age 6 or 69, participants are given space to step away from the stressors of disenfranchisement and into environments where they can reconnect to themselves, to each other, and to nature..

MISSION
Karmic Connections exists to support the mental health of disadvantaged communities by leveraging nature, travel, culture, and adventure as protective factors.
Through intentional engagement with natural environments and cultural experiences, participants can reduce symptoms of stress, foster emotional regulation, and support long-term psychological well-being.
Founder Highlight
Lennette Abad
Karmic Connections was founded by Lennette Abad, who believes that Black & Brown people should have the opportunity to travel and heal, just like the people they spend day and night laboring for. Lennette has been fortunate enough to travel to over 15 countries, primarily solo, usually with a backpacker’s budget, and mostly with nature at the core of her adventures. Her longest continuous excursion was a 3-month backpacking trip through 11 countries in Europe.

Through Karmic Connections, she’s hosted nature immersions, facilitated conversations, and boating adventures in Baltimore, Maryland, as well as taking an alll-ages cohort to Costa Rica for jungle, beach time, and community service. From snorkeling in the pristine bays of Bocas del Toro, Panama, to lounging in natural hot springs in Budapest, Hungary, every journey has been healing to her soul in some way. Karmic Connections is a reflection of her desire to offer that experience to the people who need it most.
